JB Hardy - Fied de Chaintre - 2022

Le Fief de Chaintre is a white Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine, made from 100% Melon de Bourgogne grapes grown on old vines (massal selections) planted in 1960. The terroir, composed of silt over a gabbro subsoil with a northern exposure, imparts a lovely freshness accompanied by a pronounced mineral salinity. Aged for 12 months on fine lees in 450L barrels and concrete vats, then finished for 6 months in underground glass tanks, without filtration or fining, this wine develops aromas of white fruits (pear, apple), citrus zest, and white flowers. On the palate, it displays a beautiful volume, lively tension, and a persistent saline finish, perfect for pairing with seafood or briny dishes.
